We have Cards for Those Waiting for an Organ Transplant

Recently OTS participated in a special project along with the Gift of Hope and a group called Student Organ Donor Advocates (SODA).  SODA is a nationwide non-profit organization with a mission to raise awareness about organ donation among high school and college students.   There is a SODA chapter at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL and they had a wonderful idea for transplant recipients.   The chapter selected a day after school and invited students to join them in writing personal notes of encouragement and support to transplant recipients.   Many students participated in this project and with the help of the Gift of Hope they wrote over 150 notes to those waiting for a transplant and also to those who have already received a transplant.

The Gift of Hope asked OTS to deliver these personal notes to transplant recipients.   In the next month we will mail the personal notes that were written to those who have already received a transplant.   If you know someone who has recently received an organ transplant, please let us know and we will send them a personal note of encouragement.  We also have more than 50 notes that were written to those who are waiting for a transplant.   We would love to receive names and addresses of anyone who is waiting for any organ transplant, so we can send them a note.  If you know of anyone who is waiting for an organ transplant, please send the contact info by email to this address:   info@organtransplantsupport.org

Thank you to Kira Banks at the Gift of Hope and to all the students who are part of SODA at Stevenson High School for taking your time to write personal notes of encouragement.   Your notes will definitely brighten the day of a transplant recipient or someone waiting for the Gift of Life!
