Crash Course on Heart Failure, Types and Treatments


Gregg Lanier, MD


June 5th: Educational OTS meeting will begin at 7pm Central time.  This meeting will be held on Zoom and is open to the public.  We are honored to introduce the speaker for this meeting: Dr. Gregg Lanier, MD.

Gregg Lanier, MD completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in 1999, then attended Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. In 2003, he moved to New York City to complete internship, medical residency and cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital. To further his experience in cardiac transplant and ventricular assist device management, Dr. Lanier completed an additional Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University.

In 2011, Dr. Lanier joined Westchester Medical Center as the Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program and as an advanced heart failure specialist. With several other team members, he works to further Westchester Medical Center’s mission in providing high quality, cutting-edge specialty care in the fields of pulmonary hypertension, advanced heart failure, cardiac transplant, and mechanical assist devices. 

Dedicated to education in medicine, he plays an active role in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. He is the Director of Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship Program at Westchester Medical center and is Associate Professor of Medicine for New York Medical College. Dr. Lanier is board certified in cardiology and advanced heart failure and is a Fellow of the ACC and member of the AHA, ISHLT, and Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
